These gummies were exactly what I expected, and I’m not sure how I feel about that. The name Dinorex implies that you’re going to get dinosaur shaped candy, Trolli is most well known for their gummy candies and the package says with a “sour bite”. I figure the word “bite” is a play on words because dinosaurs are known for having veracious appetites. So the fact that I got a bag of gummy dinosaurs that had a slightly sour kick is not surprising at all. Honestly, when it comes to eating candy I’m not always disappointed when there’s no surprises, but as a person that writes candy reviews it make my job a little more complicated.
The only thing I can tell you about this candy that isn’t obvious is that the texture is a little softer than most gummy candies. Some might even describe the texture of these gummies as more of a jelly than a gummy, softer and less stretchy. The flavour is exactly what you’d expect, fruity but doesn’t actually taste like any real fruit you might have eaten in your life. The fruity flavour is fake, but it’s those classic fake fruit flavours that you’re probably used to. Colour wise they’re a nice range, with each colour having a different fruit flavour.
As someone who likes to eat candy I was completely satisfied, as a candy reviewer I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to write more than a few lines about this treat. It’s by no means ground breaking or unique, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want in a candy. If you’re craving gummies, and you like dinosaurs, you’ll be totally happy with these.
