Fuzzy Peach

Maynards

I find it hard to believe that it's taken me this long to review Fuzzy Peach gummies. As a kid, fuzzy peach was my favourite gummy, although since running this site I'd probably have to re-think that. It's not that I dislike fuzzy peach gummies; I've just discovered so many more varieties of gummy out there, the competition is much wider. The one thing about fuzzy peach gummies is there are so many different brands of them out there. Most bulk candy stores (at least the ones in Canada) all seem to sell some kind of fuzzy (or not fuzzy) peach gummy. Some are better than others, but for me Maynards Fuzzy Peach gummies sets the standard.

The first thing I like about Maynards Fuzzy Peach gummies is their texture. Other than the few occasions that I've had really stale ones, Maynards fuzzy peach gummies are always nice and soft, with just the right resistance to make each bite satisfying. The texture is also really helped out by their slightly smaller size, but slightly thicker shape. They're a little rounder than many other fuzzy peach gummies, and that works well for the texture. I also like the fact that Maynards gummies come in small individual packages which keeps them fresh.

Flavour wise these are pretty tasty, although not perfect. The one thing I really like in a fuzzy peach gummy is the sour. I often find that Maynards Fuzzy Peach gummies are sour, but not really sour enough. I've always associated the "fuzzy" part of the name with being just a little tart. These could have been just a little sourer in my opinion. It would be really nice if they incorporated some of the sour into the gummy, instead of just on the outside coating.

Don't get me wrong; these are the best peach (fuzzy or not) gummies out there. The lack of slightly more tart flavour is easily made up for in the wonderful shape and texture. These are the fuzzy peach gummies you should try.
