Here's an interesting little thing I've noticed about jelly, and just about any other slimy sweet treat I've come across during my career as the Candy Critic. The texture of these treats is not pleasant in most situation. In fact, if this texture appears in natural foods, that texture is either treated or completely removed. When you present this texture in a fruity situation (interestingly this texture almost never has a fruity texture naturally) people not only eat it, but also love the texture.
I can't say that I'm really that different than most people, however I am trying to grow a little. I still can't swallow a big glob of fat on my steak, but I've had a few other jellied foods and happily managed to keep them down. These on the other hand I had no problem getting them down. In fact, it was kind of fun to eat and the grape flavour was fantastic. As usual the grape flavour was fairly fake in that it didn't really taste like real grapes. But that doesn't matter to me as I'm pretty happy with most fake grape flavours.
I've become a bit of a fan of having these treats with little bits of fruit or at least a harder type jelly in them, and maybe that would have improved this. A real grape in the bottom would have been great, but I can't really complain since this really isn't a high class jelly treat, rather it's a simple slime snack for anybody that wants a quick slurp.
