I have to say I'm both relived and a little saddened by this treat. I'm relived most of all by the fact that the black berries are not licorice flavoured. Whenever I'm confronted with a treat featuring a red and a black candy my first assumption is that the red is some kind of berry flavour and the black is licorice. Had that been the case I would have been really disappointed with this treat considering the berry like appearance of them.

The part of this treat that saddens me a little is its complete lack of flavour. Maybe “complete” isn't that fair, it does taste a very little bit like berries for about 3 seconds. Unfortunately, the flavour is brief and really more of an essence than a full-on flavour explosion. You would think that a candy with such a great colour and a creative look, that it would be bursting with fruit flavour. You also might imagine that with such a cool contrasting colour look to them that each colour would be a different flavour as well, but again disappointment abounds.

The texture with the little crunchy sprinkles on the outside is actually pretty decent. With the soft gummy it's nice to have a little contrast. Unfortunately, the lack of flavour just makes this cool looking treat fall flat.
