I’ll start with the good, and there’s a few things worth mentioning. This isn’t the first time I’ve ever eaten a gummy from the folks at Amos, and consistently they nail the look. There are few candy companies making gummies in full 3D. Many make kind of 3D gummies, but they’re more like 2D with a bit of texture. Amos makes gummies that have much more dimension than any other gummies. They also have great deep colours and beautiful shine. Visually they’re one of the better gummy candies out there.

The flavour of these Strawberry gummies are also pretty good, there is no doubt that these are strawberry flavoured. They smell like strawberry, look like strawberry and they taste like strawberry. According to the package there’s even real strawberry juice in them, so that’s a fun bonus. You’d probably think that the case is closed, and that’s it, but you’d be wrong. What I described above is what just about every Amos gummy has provided, but these offer a bonus, a “juicy burst”.

Unfortunately this part is not as great as the great shape and tasty flavour. There is a slightly soft centre to these, one might even say juicy, the problem is I wouldn’t really describe it as a burst. I would say it’s a trickle at best. It’s not that it ruined this treat at all, it just didn’t really live up to the name burst. These gummies are a little small, and I just feel like they couldn’t get the cool 3D shape and a large enough centre to hold a decent sized burst of squishy flavour. Don’t get me wrong, there is a slightly squirt, but it was kind of lacklustre to what I was expecting, and what some other gummies and candies have offered me in the past.

These are tasty gummies, and they look great. If you lower your expectation on the how much it will juice in your mouth, you’ll enjoy these well enough.
