So who makes Sour Patch Kids in Canada? In the past I’ve always thought that Sour Patch Kids in Canada were made by Maynards, I checked my old review and this was in fact the case. However on a recent trip back to Canada I bought a bag of them to shoot an In Hindsight video when I realized that I had actually purchased a bag of Sour Patch Kids sold in Canada but made by Mondelez. Mondelez seems to make the Sour Patch Kids in the USA but now do they make them in Canada too. I decided to write a second review, just in case they tasted different than what I remembered before.

Honestly though, they taste pretty much the same as the Maynards Sour Patch Kids. My assumption is that they’re probably made the same way and maybe even in the same factory. It does imply on the back that they’re made in Canada, so it’s not like they’re just the American version being imported into Canada. This is not the first time I’ve come across a candy that’s made by a different company depending on where you buy it. The most interesting one is the fact that Hershey’s makes Kit Kats in the USA, but everywhere else in the world they’re made by Nestle. The thing here is that it appears that it’s pretty much the same candy, unlike the Kit Kat situation.

So I guess my review of these gummies is pretty much the same. “While I won't say that I don't like these Sour Patch Kids, I can say that they're not my favourite gummies. It's very rare that I seek Sour Patch Kids out, but when I do I would rather grab a handful of Irish Sour Patch Kids if given the opportunity, they're just a bit better than these.” (You can read the rest of the review here.)
