Whenever a popular treat comes out with a new shape and/or size, my first question is “does it change the treat enough”. Sometimes smaller or larger versions of treat might change it a little, but mostly just give you more or less of that treat. These little balls change the Kit Kat a lot. The wafer to chocolate ratio is different, the way you eat it is different, and even the chocolate feels different. I would say that these Pops are nothing like eating a Kit Kat bar at all.

The second question is “is this new format better (or at least close to equal) to the the original”, and this is where this and many other variants fail. Being better than a classic Kit Kat bar is hard, probably the closest variant to come close to this is the Kit Kat Chunky. While I enjoyed popping these in my mouth, the crunch was just not as satisfying as a classic Kit Kat crunch. Probably the biggest difference/disappointment is the chocolate coating. I feel like the chocolate on the outside of these is much more waxy and doesn’t melt in your mouth the same way a classic (Canadian) Kit Kat bar would melt (I bought these in Canada).

The real question is do these pops really have to exist. In other words, would I buy them again or just get a regular Kit Kat bar instead. In most cases I would rather have a regular Kit Kat bar over these. The only place these might work is in some kind of super candy trail mix combined with a few other sweet treats and maybe some nuts.
