Arguu Lollipop "Mango"

Candy Land

I would probably have a little more to say about this lollipop if it was the first Arguu lollipop that I had ever tasted. As lollipops go, it’s very simple, and very handmade as it says in small letters on the package. As I’ve mentioned before with these lollipops, the shape is actually more interesting than what’s on the package as well. Rather than being a simple square with rounded corners, it’s actually more of a mouth pleasing paddle shape. As with the other Arguu lollipops, the shape is extremely pleasing to put in your mouth.

The shape however wasn’t the only difference from what you see on the package. On the package they show an orange based candy with a cloudy yellow top. My lollipop was almost entirely cloudy yellow with some hints of orange, but not much. It really gives more indication that this is likely a handmade treat, but I would have preferred something even a little closer to what was promised.

Flavour wise this lollipop had a pretty uphill climb. I say this because in general I find that mango flavoured treats are often failures. If there’s real mango juice I’m often happy, but I just find that fake mango flavour is still not able to get the mango flavour across appropriately. I love mangoes, but fake mango flavour often doesn’t cut it for me, the same goes for bananas, but that’s not really important now. I found this fake mango flavour to be tolerable, but I still didn’t get the full feeling like I was eating something that was mango flavoured. I’m not sure I could tell you what fruit it tastes like, but blindfolded I probably wouldn’t necessarily say mango.

I didn’t hate this lollipop by any means, it was perfectly fine. I just wish they either used a more realistic mango flavour, of maybe even real mango.
