There’s a lot going on with the flavour of these chips, or at least there should be. Underneath the flavour is a more detailed description of the name of these chips, it says “Brazil BBQ pork ribs”. So the assumption is that these will have a distinctly Brazilian BBQ flavour, and there might be something that makes you taste specifically pork ribs. That’s really a lot to promise for a bag of potato chips, but maybe it’s not impossible.

While it might be possible, these particular chips did not deliver a specific “Brazilian BBQ pork rib” flavour at all. The only flavour they did deliver is a pretty standard barbecue flavour with a slightly spicy kick. I say slightly, and I mean very slightly. I’m a pretty big wimp when it comes to spicy foods and this didn’t bother me much at all. As far as any pork flavour, I really couldn’t taste any at all. Maybe there’s actual pork in the chips, but if there was the flavour didn’t come through at all.

The second problem I have with these chips is that barbecue is one of my least favourite flavours of potato chips. I thought maybe with the addition of a Brazilian style and the pork flavour I might have appreciated them more. However, since they were just regular barbecue chips for the most part, I was just not impressed. The only difference between these and standard barbecue chips is the heat, and that actually turned me off even more.

This is just a simple bag of chips dressed up like it’s something more exotic and unique.
