If you want a different kind of chocolate bar, than this is a bar for you. Even looking at the way it’s packaged and the shape of the bar will tell you that it’s not your average chocolate bar. When you take a bite the first interesting detail of this chocolate bar has to be its lack of sweetness. It's full of nuts with a dark chocolate coating and there really isn't anywhere to sweeten it up. If you’re the type of people that doesn’t like overly sweet candy, this might be the bar for you.
There is a light caramel that glues the nuts together, but its such a small amount of caramel that it really doesn't affect the flavor or sweetness of the bar at all. While the flavour isn’t affected by the caramel, it does affect the interior with a little bit of a stickiness. This stickiness didn’t bother me at all, and I think it’s necessary to keep this bar all together.
While I really thing that this bar is a great treat for a specific taste, there is one thing that irked me the wrong way. The Torrone seemed to have a fruity flavour. I can't really explain when it came from, it just didn't work for me. This flavour seemed to get to me more after I finished the bar as well, a really strong fruity aftertaste.
If you can, try a Torrone bar out. It's very different than average North American chocolate bars and the quality is great, it just had a strange after taste.
