Now I've tasted Pretz before (you can read that review here) and I have to be honest, the idea of putting tomato and Pretz together freaked me out a little. Pretz are kind of sweet like short bread (they’re like Pocky without the chocolate), and last I heard short bread and tomato don't really work together. Unless… maybe they do, I mean short bread and fruit can often work well together and technically a tomato is a fruit. I know this is a bit of a stretch, but at this point it’s the only reason I can figure that these Pretz Tomatoes might work.

My first reaction after biting into this crunch stick is nope, that’s not a Pretz. The shortbread flavour is simply all gone, this taste more like a bread stick than a stick of shortbread. Now having said that, I'm not disappointed at all. I was getting a little nervous about the crazy combination of short bread and tomato, but as it turns out, I have nothing to fear at all. These Pretz Tomato are pretty good, particularly if you're looking for a salty snack that’s a little bit different. Although it does taste a little like tomato, I have to say that there must be a few other spices thrown in too. These are a little bit like tomato soup or even like a lightly spiced tomato sauce than just tomato.

There are three more packages in this box and I think I might try dipping them in stuff instead of just eating them plain. I’m not sure what I’ll dip them in, but I think these might be a great hors d'oeuvre for all of your classy social events.
