The regular Mars bar is not a bad, it’s not my favourite bar in the world, but it’s not bad. The simple way to explain the Mars bar is to say that it’s filled with nougat and caramel it has just the right amount of chocolate around it. The only problem with the regular Mars bar is the texture, it's a little too soft and chewy. There just seems to be something missing from this classic bar. What's missing you ask? Well this version of the Mars bar gives me a good answer, nuts.
Even better than just nuts, this bar offers to fix the texture problem with almonds. Almonds are one of the best nuts you can use to fix texture problems in chocolate bars, they have a certain class to them that other nuts don’t have. There’s something nicer about eating a handful of almonds over a handful of peanuts. It's also nice to be able to see the almonds throughout the nougat not just on the top or in one certain area, it leaves a little suspense with every bite. Will I get a full almond this bite, will I just get half an almond, each bite of this bar seems to have an almond, but you never know how much.
Mars Bar with Almonds, a great bar variation. The texture is better, the almonds have a strong enough flavour to compete with the rest of the bar, and best of all the almonds add a bit of class to this treat.
