This candy is what a novelty is all about. Its got a movie tie-in, cool packaging, and a naked creature. The movie tie in is from one of the most successful movie and book franchises in history. The packaging teases you a bit, and if you know the books/movies well you’ll know exactly what you’re about to eat. I’m not sure why I love the idea of nudity and candy, but to be honest it’s not something you often get with most candies. There’s also an interactive element to this treat, you’re not just eating it, but you have to do a certain amount of work to make it right. Simply put, this little treat is fun to eat.

In the pot is dirt to cover your Mandrake lollipop. Just when you lick your Mandrake clean (that sounds a lot dirtier than it should), you can dip him back into the pot cover him up in another layer of candy covered dirt. Flavour wise this treat isn't much to talk about with this Mandrake Lollipop Dipper. The dirt really had no flavour, it was just really sweet. The lollipop wasn't bad, I think it was some kind of berry cream, maybe blueberry. Really, the flavour was pretty weak, it really could have used something a little more powerful, maybe a little sour or something. I blame the powder for this, I think some kind of contrasting flavour (like something sour) in the powder would have really improved this candy.

Even though it didn’t taste great, I must say that I had fun eating this, I mean who couldn't enjoy licking a naked monster.
