Goo Goo Cluster "The Original"

Standard Candy Company

I really liked this treat, but there’s something wrong with the representation of it on the package. It’s safe to say that there are many differences between the candy I ate and the picture on the package. The differences were all in the ratio of ingredients, one of the most important parts of candy making. The thing is, I really liked the candy I ate, so I’m not sure if I would like the candy on the package as much. It’s weird, I felt a little deceived, but I liked the candy so much that I’m kind of glad I was deceived.

The big difference between the package image and the real candy is in the amount of peanuts and nougat. I would say that my chocolate treat had much more nougat than depicted on the package. The package implies that there’s a hint of nougat on the bottom of this treat, but I would say that there’s two to three times as much nougat in the real candy as compared to what’s depicted on the package. The other difference is in the number of peanuts depicted on the package. I feel like I got far fewer peanuts than what’s on pictured the package picture. The caramel and chocolate seemed to be about the same.

My problem is that I really enjoyed eating this treat, I mean I really enjoyed it. I liked the texture of all the elements and I thought the flavour balanced very well. I’m not sure if the treat depicted on the package would be as good as the one I ate. It looks like there might be too many peanuts, and not enough nougat. I could be wrong, but I’m not sure I want to find out.

I generally don’t like it when a package depicts a treat differently than the real thing, I feel like I’m being lied to a little. This case however I feel like they really made up for it by making a treat that just worked really well. I’m so confused, but also satisfied.
