When I bought this candy I really had no idea what I was buying. If memory serves me, the only reason I bought it was because it was on sale in some kind of buy 3 get on free situation. I really wanted the other three candies and I just randomly picked this one up as my bonus. The package didn’t really pop out and I can’t read any of the writing on the package. Had I looked at it even more closely I would have seen that it’s strawberry and banana flavoured. Fake banana is one of the flavours I hate most of all. As far as I’m concerned this candy has nothing going for it on the outside.

The thing is, I give candy and snacks a chance, that’s part of what this site is all about. So well after finishing the other three treats I bought for the buy three get one free deal, it’s time to give this one a try. All this build up has probably suggest that there’s a surprise coming, and there is. I really like these candies. Strangest of all, the part I like the most is the banana. The strawberry candy on the outside of these is pretty basic fake strawberry flavour and it’s kind of weak.

After spending a few minutes sucking through the blah strawberry outer shell a slight creamy flavour starts to come through. As you get deeper into this candy the creamy flavour (which I assume is the banana) gets stronger. The further into the centre you get the more this candy melts away into nothingness leaving behind a wonderful creamy flavour with a hint of strawberry. It’s the last minute or two of this candy that makes it great when the flavours meld together. Sure it could be improved, likely with a more realistic strawberry flavour, but I’m not disappointed. The fact is I’m really surprised at how much I like this candy, considering I wasn’t expecting much at all.
