Doublemint "Honey Lemon Mint Flavour Gum"

Nestlé

There’s really only one specific type of person that will like this gum. These people would have to really enjoy the flavour of lemon cough drops. I mean that these people would rather have lemon flavoured cough drops over any other candy or chewing gum. Honestly I’m not convinced these people exist, but it’s all to find a clever way to say that this gum tastes like super-menthol gum.

The coolness of this gum is intense, so intense that I avoided drinking water for the entire time I was chewing it so I wouldn’t get brain freeze. While I don’t mind lemon cough drops, I only like them when I’m sick. The idea of having this intense cool, lemon flavour while just walking down the street felt wrong. I also happened to be chewing it outside on a warm day too, which made the cooling particularly intense.

The one part of this gum that really didn’t appear is the honey. There might have been a slight hint of it, but the intense mint and strong (slightly less intense) lemon just blocked it out entirely. It’s too bad because I probably would have preferred more honey and lemon over the intense mint. It’s another instance of lack of balance when a candy companies try to mix too many flavours.

Maybe there is someone out there who loves lemon cough drops so much and has been waiting for an alternative texture. Also worth noting it there is no medicine that I know of in this gum, so it’s not like you can cure a sore throat. So, if you are that person pick up a pack, and also, drop me a message because I have many questions to ask you.
