Yum, yum, I love candy. That's why I started this site, I always wanted to explore the fun that is candy from places all over the world. The Amborines, this is not candy. Sure, it says that its candy or at least the packaging implies that it's candy, but this is no candy. Okay, that's just my first reaction after trying this out. I should be fair and culturally sensitive; this candy is not for me. I'm guessing if you think the Kit Kat is great and Tear Jerkers are intense, these will not be for you either.
In the Mexican (where this candy comes from) their level of flavours is a lot more extreme than what you might find in many other places in the world. In fact, if Mexico was to create an “extreme” candy it would probably kill the average candy eater in North America. Even the words “fun to eat” in Mexico is probably too much for the average candy eater in North America. It’s just a culture that likes to eat spicy and extremely strong flavoured foods.
The Amborine is the perfect example of this love of extreme all piled into one small taste bud destructing candy. This treat is not that simple because it's sour, hot, and sweet all in one. The little candy disintegrates in your mouth instantly and the extreme flavours coat your taste buds too quickly to do anything about it. Not something I would ever eat again, but hey you might... try it at your own risk.
