Cloud 9 Gold "Almond Fudge"

Jack ‘N Jill

I think this is the second or third Cloud 9 bar that I’ve tried and I’m starting to notice a pattern. Maybe I’m not getting the best Cloud 9 bar variety out there, as I’ve seen at least 8 different variations on store shelves (in the Philippines). These bars seem to offer something, like in this case “Almond Fudge”, but in small print they list off a bunch of other ingredients, peanuts, rice crisps, caramel and nougat. So what you’re expecting is a nice almond fudge candy bar, but what you get is a mishmash of other ingredients.

If I never read the package, I’d probably say that this bar is fine. Nothing spectacular, but not horrible either. I’d have a hard time telling you all the ingredients in this bar because they really just smush them all together. For example, the almonds and peanuts are all crushed up. So finding one particular nut is almost impossible. Every part of this bar just kind of blends into one glob. Sometimes this can be nice, sometimes it creates a new taste and texture experience, sometimes however you just have a blob of ingredients.

This bar is hard to rank. It’s not a great bar, but it’s fine. The ingredients are okay quality, but nothing spectacular. It’s fine enough if you’re looking for a few sweet, chocolate bites. If you happen to be looking for almond fudge, you’re going to be disappointed.
