This piece of gum was inspirational. It was inspirational only because it tasted exactly like peppermint. The inspiration that came from this piece of gum was the fact that I can't really figure out why people would choose one gum over another. This peppermint flavour really didn't come across as anything that different, or unique. It tasted fine, but it also tasted a lot like other peppermint gums I've eaten in the past.
I guess what I'm trying to figure out is why people would choose one brand of peppermint gum over another. Maybe there are a few that are completely different, but most seem to be pretty much the same flavour wise. Although I have to admit, I've never done a side-by-side taste test to prove this.
From what I can tell the only difference between most peppermint gums is the longevity of the taste and texture. Some peppermint gums seem to lose their flavour in about 5 minutes and feel like rubber the minute the sugar is all gone. Fortunately, this particular gum's flavour lasted about half and hour and the texture was great for about the same amount of time.
